Roundabouts a problem

I would like to vent my frustration regarding the roundabouts in Vernon. I am very familiar with them from Europe but I can not understand the logic of them here.

I wonder if the person who designed them has ever driven a truck, bus or anything larger then a small car?

None of the larger vehicles can navigate them without driving through the middle of them as they are designed for small cars only.

Even a regular, full-size pickup has difficulties doing it. What about the snowplow in the winter? It’s impossible to navigate.

And then there is the pedestrian crosswalk right after the roundabout? I am surprised that there has not been a major accident there.

I understand that they are building another one by Rona. It will be really interesting to watch a semi trailer trying to navigate it.

Someone even suggested one out on Highway 97 by Stickle Road. Really people, grab a brain and think a bit.

A traffic light that changes when someone wants to enter Highway 97 is what it needs. It is inexpensive and will do for the next 20 years.
