Sugar

Resident concerned about the eating habits of youth

As we enter into the Easter season, I again see the stores filling their shelves with hoards of chocolate and ask myself, what is this doing to our children?

Consider the amount of sugar they are ingesting over the year, especially with Halloween, probably being one of the major sugar-induced frenzies, with the shelves flowing over with sugar products.

Christmas is not as bad the previous two mentioned.

I personally feel the government should take some initiative to put some attention to warning as they have on other products that are harmful if over consumption or over use could be harmful to the health of our children who are experiencing many health problems from this epidemic.

We protect our children from many things but sugar, fast foods and packaged foods do not meet the fresh food requirements our bodies need to stay healthy and is it any wonder out health care system suffers so much.

The government has put warnings on cigarettes.

They need to warn of these other health concerns or are they too interest in their tax?
