Predators find playoff mode

The Godard Excavating Predators appear ready for the playoffs after winning back-to-back Interior Hockey League games.

Curtis Gobbett had the clutch shootout goal as the Preds shaded the Aquatico Bay Bar & Grill Sharks 4-3 Wednesday night at Wesbild Centre, one night after Justin Horochuk supplied 4+2 in an 11-5 shelling of the R.E. Postill & Sons Orphans.

The Preds improved to 17-11-0-1 and into sole possession of fourth spot. Jordan Nixon netted two goals and Derrek Martin one in regulation versus the Sharks. Gobbett beat Sharks’ tender Jordan Vallance in the shootout, while Vallance stopped Horochuk.Jarrett McNeal earned 1+2 for the Sharks, who also got goals from Ryan Robertson and Dallas Wolpert.
