Schuetze nets CIS honour

Vernon’s Diane Schuetze of the Thompson Rivers WolfPack is the first CIS Canada West Athlete of the Week for 2012.

The fourth-year student-athlete led TRU in scoring during home hoop victories over Manitoba Bisons (3-7) and the Winnipeg Wesmen (5-5) as the WolfPack evened their season record at 5-5, tied for third place in the Pacific Division.

While leading Canada West with 19.6 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest, Schuetze is also first in CIS in free throws (82-104), second in total rebounds (103) and rebounds per game, second in points (196) and fifth in points per game.

The WolfPack continue their home stand with a pair of games against the first-place UBC Thunderbirds this weekend at the Tournament Capital Centre in Kamloops.
