Rockets drop opener

The Fraser Valley Phantom scored once in each of the first two periods, and goalie Valencia Yordanov made 16 saves, for a 2-0 Phantom win over the Thompson Okanagan Rockets in Game 1 of the best-of-three B.C. Female AAA hockey final in Langley.

Lavington’s Lisa Campeau and Lake Country’s Hunter Joseph are with the Rockets, who hoped to even the provincial final at one game apiece Saturday in Langley.

The Okanagan Rockets beat the Red Deer Optimist Chiefs 3-1 in Game 1ne Friday of the best-of-three Pacific region major midget final in Red Deer.
