Rhett Ballard scored five times as the M&K Ready-Mix Bruins bottled up the Kal Tire Knights 13-8 in Interior Hockey League action Wednesday night at Wesbild Centre.
Jarret Watts supplied 2+7, while Chris Church counted 2+5 as the Bruins went to 12-13-0-1. Mike Tew added 2+2, while Don Malakoff and ageless checking specialist Les Butler had singles. Shawn Scott earned three helpers.
Cody Watson and Curtis Summerfelt each collected 2+1 for the Knights, who trailed 7-6 at the break. Jake Stuchberry, with 1+3, Will Bester, Evan McAaulay and Tim Glaim also scored as the Knights dipped to 7-20-0-1.
Mike Fochler provided 5+2 as the Aquatico Bay Bar & Grill Sharks stormed the Blue Jay Concrete Hornets 9-4 Tuesday night at Civic Arena.
Dallas Wolfpert, with 1+3, and Corey Wein, Pearse Wylie and Sam Pantaleo each with 1+2, rounded out the 12-11 Sharks’ attack. Justin Mann and Jesse Duss each had two helpers.
Tim Hackman had 2+2 and Blair Fernley also scored twice for the 9-17 Buzz.
The Royal LePage Whalers got 2+3 from Cory Nicholson in a 9-0 mauling of the Maroons.
Kyle Johnson added 2+1 and Marc Bevan also bagged a pair for the 15-10-0-1 Whalers. Mike Burke pocketed 1+3, Mike Sutch had 1+2 and Jerry Reinhardt also scored. Bobby Nicholls and Steve Ushy each netted a pair of assists.
James Scherck made 20 saves for the shutout.
