Eighth-place Bosman Accounting of Vernon aren’t expected to last long in the Capri Insurance Men’s 45+ Soccer League playoffs.

However, the Bean Counters celebrated like they had won a post-season tilt after they held third-place Turn-Key Controls Ogopogos to a 2-2 draw Monday night at Marshall Field #5.

John Matjicka scored both goals for Bosman (5-12-2), who made the top-eight A Division for the first time in franchise history. Bryan Schenker and Mark Wasylyk, each with their 18th goals of the season, delivered for Turn-Key (11-4-4).

Schenker fooled keeper Yogi Kongsdorf with a 25-yard high shot near the 21st minute. Matjicka intercepted an errant pass inside the 18 and beat Mike Moorlag with a hard blast about 10 minutes later.

Kongsdorf registered multiple fabulous fingertip saves with the Pogos pressing for the winner in the second half. The Danish delight bobbled a shot from the left flank and Wasylyk tapped in the go-ahead snipe with 13 minutes to play.

Matjicka equalized from the far corner with his shot going bar down with six minutes remaining. Matjicka and Kongsdorf shared the Maple Leaf Meats Man of the Match for Bosman.

Central fullback Steve Fitzpatrick and central midfielder Jason Beck split the Glenlivet Scotch Whisky Man of the Match for the Pogos.

Bosman will take on league champion Brown Benefits in first-round playoff action next Monday. The Pogos meet either Brandt’s Creek Pub or Tree Brewing, who tied for sixth place.
