Fullback Evan Frederick pulled the hat trick as the North Enderby Timber toppled the Revelstoke Stallions 5-0 in North Okanagan Soccer League play Wednesday night in Salmon Arm.

Both teams debated rescheduling due to smoky conditions, but the skies cleared and the Timber came out flying. Frederick opened the attack at 15 minutes by hitting an 18-yard strike that deflected off a defender top cheddar.

The Timber kept coming and three minutes later, Brent Poulsen tapped in a Frederick shot. Poulsen then five minutes later sent Frederick through and he beat the diving keeper on a breakaway. Frederick completed the first-half hat trick on an identical goal.

Poulsen turned playmaker and added another assist, this time setting up Omeet Khatra, who nailed a gorgeous outswinging shot from 20 yards into the top corner.

NET (10-1-1) then played keep-away for the rest of the game. Keeper Ryan Posnikoff earned the clean sheet. Frederick was named the simplyfrugal.ca Man of the Match. Revelstoke dipped to 2-8.

Turn-Key (grounded the host Salmon Arm GM Outlaws 2-0 in the first meeting of the season between the teams.

Turn-Key applied scorching pressure but couldn’t convert in the opening 45. Vernon then tried some different strategy and finally created some good chances with the keeper making some big saves.

Vernon moved the ball nicely down the right flank to Thomas Pool, who lazered the ball to the far post where the keeper made a save and Brent Wileman was buried the rebound.

Turn-Key created a few corners and Nathan Tucker struck a great header to the front post, but the defender knocked the ball out of play. The second attempted corner saw the ball roll out to Tucker again and he blasted a left footer with the defender on the post making another save, but TJ Colovos converted on the rebound. The Outlaws fell to 2-8.

Auto Quest Nation of Domination of Salmon Arm shut down Peters Tirecraft 2-0 at Marshall Field #4.

Tirecraft (3-9) had a goal called back on a questionable offside call when Riley Strother hit one off the post and it deflected to Alex Farina in front of the net.

A couple of minutes later, Auto Quest connected on a blistering shot towards the bottom corner that the Tirecraft All-Terrain Tread Award winner Riley Spraggs dove for and deflected. Unfortunately, the rebound went directly to an Auto Quest player who pushed it to the front of the net for a tap in.

Spraggs recorded some more incredible saves in the second half to keep it close, but Auto Quest (6-4-1) scored insurance on a late breakaway.
