Gators reach final vs Tenacity

The White House Mortgage Gators face a monster challenge in the Vernon Competitive Women’s Slo-Pitch League finals Wednesday night at Kin Park.

The Gators, who finished second behind the Delaney Properties Tenacity in the regular season, must defeat Tenacity twice for the playoff title.

Tenacity outslugged the Gators 11-9 in second-round playoff action Wednesday to remain unbeaten in the double knockout format.

Eli Lane was 3-for-3 with a sacrifice and three ribbies to spark the Gators. Iva Wiens was 3-for-4 two RBI, while Alicia Carter was 2-for-3 with one RBI.

The White House crew also mercied the Competition Exteriors Dynamite 13-1 in six innings to reach the final.

Lead-off batter Melissa Locke was 4-for-4 and drove in two Gator runs, while Kelli Graham was also 4-for-4 with two RBI and Wiens knocked in four runs on three base hits. Tiffany Disher dialed three hits and two RBI, while Jen Doyle was 3-for-4 with one RBI,

Sarah McDonell posted three hits and Tanya Saddleman Joe was 2-for-3.

The Dynamite were dynamic defensively as they knocked the Ice Cold Pitches out of the playoffs with a 9-2 win Wednesday night.

Ashley Charleton went 3-for-3 with a home run in the sixth and four RBI on the night for the Nitros, while Debi Drake supplied three hits and a pair of ribbies.

Tori Reid was 3-for-4 with an RBI, while both Jessica Sinclaire and Greg Barry were 2-for-3 with one RBI and Meghan Rydde provided two hits in three plate appearances.

Meanwhile, For Hits &Giggles defeated Each Hit in Sunday’s final of the Unique Fidelity Options Vernon Mixed Slo-Pitch League’s playoff tournament at Lavington Park.

For Hits &Giggles, who finished fourth in the regular season of the 12-team league, upset first-place AMI Golden Arms in the A side semifinal, snapping the Arms’ 29-game winning streak stretching over two years. Each Hit, runner-ups in the league, stopped the Golden Arms in the B side final.
