North Okanagan Legends drop lacrosse pair

U16 Tolko squad goes 1-2 in minor lacrosse league play

The weekend started well for the North Okanagan Tolko Legends U16 minor lacrosse team.

The Legends began with a 7-3 romp over the Kelowna Kodiaks Friday, May 12, in Vernon.

Goalie Axel Manson stood tall for Tolko, making 33 saves for the win. Aidan Wattie (3+1) and Kian Yargeau (2+2) each had four-point nights to pace North Okanagan’s offence. Waylon Stowards added 2+1 while picking up assists were Sean Harty, Cole Gartner and affiliate player Asher Kuiken.

The next day, North OK fell 7-4 to the Kamloops Rattlers.

Wattie scored three times, Teigan Kelley had the other goal and Legends’ assists went to Gracie Balcaen and Gartner.Taylor Robins-Swanson made 33 saves in goal in taking the loss.

Looking to go 2-1, and playing their third game in three days, the Legends lost 7-5 at home to the Penticton Heat.

Wattie had his third consecutive hat trick while Kelley and Stowards finished off the scoring. Stowards had two assists, as did Kohen Pounder, while Gartner, Yargeau and Charlie Swartz added one each. Manson took the loss in goal.
