Vipers move game times to support Esso Cup in Vernon

As the Vernon Vipers wait to find out tonight who they face in round two of the playoffs, some game time changes are needed.

The start times for games three and four of the second round of the playoffs at Kal Tire Place will by 8:15 p.m. April 23 and 24.

The Esso Cup Women’s U18 Tournament is underway at the arena April 21 to 27.

“Due to the circumstances out of our control, we understand that this schedule is not ideal,” said executive vice-president of the Vipers Todd Miller. “However, we understand how big this event is for our community and are in full support. We will be cheering on the Thompson-Okanagan Lakers and their quest for a national championship. We appreciate the understanding of our fans and corporate partners.”

The next round of the post season begins Friday, April 19 with the Vipers starting on the road against Penticton or Salmon Arm.

With a West Kelowna win, the Vipers would face the Penticton Vees. If the Cranbrook Bucks win, the Vipers would take on the Salmon Arm Silverbacks. Game times and dates will be released shortly after the conclusion of the BCHL’s first round which features two game sevens tonight (Tuesday).

Tickets for games three and four are now on sale. Season ticket holders have until 12 p.m. on game day to reserve their seat before it is released to the general public.

The Vipers office is open for ticket sales 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday to Friday, the Kal Tire Place Box Office will be open Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
