Butcher Boys go on spree

The Butcher Boys Titans ambushed Salmon Arm Salmar Classics 8-2 in Pee Wee Super League play Saturday at Priest Valley Arena.

Second-year veterans Sean Howard and Tyson Sampert each netted a deuce, while Anthony Kennedy, Miles Wohlford, Landen Harison and Niclolas Hartwing added singles. Jacob Baycroft had two assists.

Sampert and Harison stepped up to help Howard and Mac Gilchrist on the blue line in support of Caenan Wisse and Nick Maglio.

In exhibition Pee Wee action, the Bannister GM Flames stopped the North Okanagan Knights 9-5 Saturday in Enderby.

Nick Mitchell counted 3+1, including one shorthanded, for the Flames. Chase Batchelor and Cody Webb each added 2+1, while Jacob Brewer, with the winner on a sweet snipe, and Isaac White fired singles. Jacob Barnett had three helpers and Sam White two. Nicholas Walker (4) and Nathan Hamming replied for the Knights. It was 5-5 after two periods.

In Atom Super League exhibition play, the M&K Ready-Mix Demons toppled the Vernon Mighty Ducks 7-4 Sunday at PV.

The shortstaffed Demons trailed 2-0 before Gage Stoll scored his first of three midway through the second period. Stoll and Ronan Bedard, from Jordyn Morris, put the Demons up 3-2 late in the period.

The Mighty Ducks went ahead 4-3 before Stoll answered one minute later. Shaelyn Cecchini scored the winner and popped in her own rebound for the go-ahead snipe. Brady Horton added insurance, on a feed by Christopher Bond.
