Vernon Vipers send Robin to Sunshine Coast
Published: November 29, 2012 3:00 PMThe Vernon Vipers traded forward Landon Robin to the Powell River Kings in exchange for future considerations in a B.C. Hockey League trade Thursday.
Vernon head coach/GM Jason Williamson said the deal was made to get down to a 22-man roster ahead of the Dec. 1 deadline that reduces teams to 25 player cards.
Robin, 18, was captain of Saskatchewan’s Beardy’s Midget AAA Blackhawks last season, racking up 50 points (27-23) in 33 games. He struggled with the Vipers early on, but appeared to be adjusting to the pace of the BCHL. He has a goal and four assists in 23 games.
Meanwhile, the Vipers begin a home-and-home series with the West Kelowna Warriors Friday night at Royal LePage Place. The Warriors visit Wesbild Centre Saturday night.
