Vernon Vipers pull comeback win over Warriors

Liam Board scored the powerplay winner midway through the third period to give the Vernon Vipers a 3-2 comeback win over the West Kelowna Warriors in a B.C. Hockey League thriller Saturday night at Wesbild Centre.

The win was a huge rebound for the Snakes, as they were pummelled 7-1 by the Warriors a night earlier at Royal LePage Place.

Braedan Russell, with his first goal of the season, and Logan Mick, with his second, completed Vernon's offence in front of first-star netminder Austin Smith (39 saves).

Seb Lloyd, counting his fourth and fifth goals in two weekend games against Vernon, responded for the Warriors.

Vernon is now a game back of .500 at 10-11-0-6, while the Warriors slipped to 11-8-1-6.

The Vipers entertain the Trail Smoke Eaters Thursday night at Wesbild.
