Vernon Vipers send Soleway to Penticton Vees

The Vernon Vipers have traded 1994-born forward Jedd Soleway to the Penticton Vees for forward Dexter Dancs ('95).

Soleway, a Vernon native, is in his second season with the Vipers, recording five goals and 11 assists in 26 games.

Dancs is committed to the University of Michigan for 2014-15 and has two goals and three assists while seeing limited time in 24 games. Last season with the KIJHL Osoyoos Coyotes, Dancs tallied 67 points in 42 games.

He is currently listed as a “C” prospect on NHL Central Scouting's watch List for the 2014 draft.

Dancs is expected to make his Viper debut on Thursday night when the Vipers host the Trail Smoke Eaters at Wesbild Centre.

Meanwhile, the Vipers' other new recruit, forward Andrew Tegeler, is expected in the lineup Friday when Vernon visits the West Kelowna Warriors at Royal LePage Place.

Tegeler, 20, de-committed from UMass Amherst of the NCAA after two seasons. Before that, he played Junior A with the EJHL Boston Jr. Bruins.
