Our dear Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend passed away peacefully at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on March 27, 2024.
Dorothy May Stewart was born in Salmon Arm and raised on the family farm in Mt. Ida alongside her two brothers and four sisters. She met the man of her dreams Donald McLean and they were married on Sept 24, 1949 and raised four children in the Salmon Arm and Westwold areas. Later they moved to Granisle, Dawson Creek and Vernon before settling back in Falkland. Dorothy was an active member in many Community organizations.
Dorothy is survived by daughter Marlene (Wayne) Carkner, son Rusty (Marie) McLean, daughter in law Judy McLean, sister Gertie McKeown, brother Albert (Skip) (Avis) Stewart. Ten Grandchildren, Eleven Great Grandchildren and Two Great Great Grandchildren.
Dorothy was predeceased by husband Don in 1997, daughter and son in law Karen and Nestor Cherwonak, son Rod McLean, siblings Bert, Marion, Edith, Margaret and Great Grandson Karter.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 18, 2024 at 1:30 at the Westwold Legion at 4651 Kamloops Vernon Hwy Westwold BC.
