Business awards gala draws near

The Lake Country Chamber of Commerce will host its 11th annual Business Excellence Awards and silent auction Oct. 19

The Lake Country Chamber of Commerce will host its 11th annual Business Excellence Awards and silent auction Oct. 19 at the Grapevine Restaurant at Gray Monk Estate Winery.

About 105 people are expected to attend the event.

“The funds raised will go towards the Lake Country Food Bank as well as other chamber networking functions and community events that benefit members as well as community residents,” said Corrinne Cross, chamber manager.

Tickets to attend are $75 each, with a wine tour at 4 p.m., a reception at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m.

The awards categories include creativity in business, service excellence, new business champion, tourism enhancement, outstanding contribution to agriculture, young entrepreneur and community service.

The Gerry Morton Award is presented to a dedicated volunteer.
