Bannister Honda has been recognized for its dedication to the community.

The company received the Community Driver Award for the Okanagan/Interior from the New Car Dealers Association of B.C.

The Community Driver Award was developed to recognize B.C. automotive dealerships that exemplify business strength and community excellence-with a significant focus on making a tangible contribution to the growth and livability of their community or region.

“To be singled out amongst all of the various dealerships throughout the Okanagan, and Interior of B.C., is truly amazing,” said Pat Loehndorf, general manager/partner..

“We, at Bannister Honda, believe that it is our responsibility to develop and maintain strong relationships within our community and we take great pride in making a tangible contribution to the growth and livability of the Greater Vernon area.”

Blair Qualey, president and CEO of the New Car Dealers Association, was impressed with Bannister Honda’s long list of community involvement.

“They are also very engaged in their own industry, as well as their volunteer work,” said Qualey.

The awards are given to encourage members of the New Car Dealers Association to give back to their communities and it celebrates those contributions.

Bannister Honda contributes to many local and national charities and programs.

They include the Canadian Cancer Society, literacy, athletics and the Salvation Army food bank.

“When we purchased the store in 2012, one of our goals was to be part of the community and to give more than we take from it,” said Loehndorf.

“We have worked very hard as a team to be part of the community, and I salute our staff members who have dedicated time and effort to make a difference, and give back.”
