Detailing firm right at home

A new business is taking Okanagan homeowners by storm.

Shack Shine is a house detailing company that offers services like window cleaning, power washing, and gutter cleaning.

“The average job only takes a few hours but the results leave a lasting impression,” said owner Dan Vrskovy.

“Most people think curb appeal has mainly to do with landscaping and new paint jobs, but it involves a whole lot more than that.”

Shack Shine refers to its services as house detailing, a concept that compares to detailing a car.

“House detailing is a quick home improvement that doesn’t require an investment as large as a painting or landscaping project may,” said Vrskovy.

“Every home is unique but cleaning windows and gutters is something homeowners should be scheduling regularly. It varies depending on the age of a home, the materials, and what the home is surrounded by.”

He added that a home surrounded by trees might attract more dirt and debris than a home on a clear lot.

“The company also prides itself on being eco-friendly, it doesn’t use any harsh chemicals but rather biodegradable solutions for detailing services.”
