The hardware has been handed out to the best in Lumby and Cherryville.
The Lumby Chamber of Commerce recently held its 10th annual business awards gala.
“The event was sold out with more than 160 business and community members in attendance,” said Stephanie Sexsmith, chamber executive director
“There were many new businesses as well as businesses that have attended every year for 10 years.”
Once the dinner was over, the awards presentation took place and there were numerous nominees in each of the 12 categories.
The winners were:

Business Revitalization: Snac Shac
Tourism excellence: Gold Panner Resort and Campground
Technology innovator: Sunfire Systems
New business: Sundowner Ranch Meats
Manufacturer/producer: Lumby Valley Times
Home-based business: Wise Wood Tree Care
Go green: Venture Bottle Bin
Business of the year: D&M Auto Recycling
Young entrepreneur of the year: Valley Canine Training
After the awards presentation, there was a dance.
“The night was a huge success, with a big thank you to our major sponsor, Valley First and all of the businesses that donated items and gift certificates for the silent auction and treasure chests and helped with set up and cleanup,” said Sexsmith.
Beyond recognizing busineses, the Lumby chamber is preparing for the holidays.
Lumby Christmas Light Up is today at 4 p.m. at the Arbor Park gazebo with wagon rides as well as free hot dogs and hot chocolate from Super-A-Foods.
The streets will then shine with the new Light Up Parade at 4:30 p.m.
Kids big and small can then welcome Santa Claus to town at 4:45 p.m.
That will then be followed by a free skate at Pat Duke Memorial Arena from 5:45 to 7 p.m.
