Junior Achievement of B.C. has received a $45,000 contribution from Great-West Life towards business education programs for youth in the province.
This gift is part of a three-year, $135,000 commitment from the firm.
Their contribution will support Economics for Success, a program for Grade 9 and 10 students that demonstrates the importance of staying in school to acquire the knowledge, attitudes and skills needed for long-term career success.
“More than half of Canada’s population is under the age of 40,” said Jan Belanger, assistant vice-president, community affairs, Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life.
“The impact and challenges in our communities will call on fresh energy, optimism and ideas. As these young Canadians chart their life and career paths, we’re investing in programs to help them achieve their potential.
Great-West Life has supported JABC’s financial education programs since 2002.
