Law students offer information

Law students at UVic’s Business Law Clinic offer free legal information to assist those with business-law related questions

Law students at UVic’s Business Law Clinic offer free legal information to assist those with business-law related questions.

Second and third year students provide clients with detailed reports on issues related to business planning and operations. Topics include (but are not limited to) incorporation, financing, charitable registration, intellectual property protection, shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, contracts, business liability, and taxation.

Students work with the clinic director, Michael Litchfield, who acts as both a supervisor and mentor. Students are also mentored by lawyers from across the province.

The Business Law Clinic exists to help clients from across the province answer their business-law related questions. Students in the Business Law Clinic program are not lawyers and therefore the clinic cannot provide legal advice or opinions.
