There’s a new face at an Armstrong business.

Alana Brookes, a former Enderby resident, has taken over Armstrong Flower and Gift Shoppe.

“I have added some of my own touches to the store, such as wonderful gifts ideas,” said Brookes.

“There is handmade jewelry by Sand & Stone designed by Kim Livingstone, who is originally from Armstrong, and Gretel Designs from Ladner. There is lovely fragrant soap by Wild Prairie Soap Co, Shuswap Suds and Woodlot.”

Brookes has also added greeting cards.

“I have a great eye for art, especially local art, magnets and prints,” she said.

While there have been some changes, the flower arrangement designers — Susan Hayes, Maureen Jackson, Michelle McKim and Kelli Muskett — remain the same.

On Saturday from 1 to 5:30 p.m., the business will host an event with Salmon Arm artist Roxi Hermsen.

The event will feature Hermsen’s new tarot and oracle decks, prints, cards and magnets, printed locally at Jeanne’s Printing and Okanagan Engraving.
