An Okanagan company is hoping to grow some national pride in the North Okanagan-Shuswap.
Okanagan Restoration Services is distributing 1,000 Canada 150 tulip bulbs to 20 partners in Armstrong, Enderby, Salmon Arm, Sicamous, Sorrento and Vernon.
The Canada 150 tulip’s white bloom with red flames bears a resemblance to the maple leaf flag.
The National Capital Commission partnered with the Netherlands, Home Hardware, retailer of this tulip bulb, and Communities in Bloom for the selection and distribution of the Canada 150 tulip.
“We love where we live and work, so the opportunity to celebrate a milestone in Canada’s history with our business partners was a good thing to undertake,” said Kevin Rothwell, with Okanagan Restoration.
