It’s been two months of hard work, but it’s been worth it for Matt Black, who opened Okanagan Property Storage Nov. 1.

Black opened the storage facility in the former bingo hall parking lot on Fairweather Road as a way of servicing that side of Vernon.

“There are 10,000 people living in the Coldstream area, and we are five minutes from the lake and highway,” said Black, adding that it’s an ideal location for storing boats and trailers.

“It’s all about providing these types of services that aren’t currently there. The bingo hall car-park was an iconic landmark to Vernon locals and we intend to give it new life.”

Over the past two months, Black has been busy building eight-foot high fences, new curbing, painting and installing cameras.

“Having Alpha Omega Security right next door is another plus and will assist with our patrols,” said Black, adding that Okanagan Property Storage is accessible from 11th Avenue.
