Telus invests $3 million

Corporation targets Vernon for wireless technology and TV service

Vernon is experiencing a major telecommunications upgrade.

Telus will invest $3 million in the community this year to expand 4G LTE wireless technology and introduce Optik TV to more homes.

“The demand for wireless services is exploding in Vernon and Telus is committed to making investments in infrastructure and technology to better serve our customers and community,” said Steve Jenkins, general manager of customer solutions delivery.

“We are deeply grateful for the hard work and outstanding commitment of our more than 250 local team members and retirees and for the support of our customers.”

This investment is part of $3 billion in upgrades being made across B.C. until 2014 and builds upon the $26 billion Telus has already invested in operations over 10 years.
