A Vernon company is competing to be the best in the province.
Universal Packaging has been named a top three finalist for B.C. manufacturer of the year.
“This is pretty cool recognition for our humble, family-owned company based,” said Steve Pelkey, president.
Universal Packaging has been supplying packaging solutions to beverage companies since 1985.
Voting for the winner of the award is underway until Oct. 21.

The other two finalists are AXYS Technologies, which manufactures remote environmental monitoring systems, and RIMEX Supply, which manufactures for wheels and rims.
The B.C. Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards are Oct. 27 in New Westminster.
