A tail-wagging good time at Okanagan Pet Expo in Kelowna

The event was held at Laurel Packinghouse

It was smiles all around at the first Okanagan Pet Expo.

The event was hosted June 11 at the Laurel Packinghouse in Kelowna.

Event Producer Rosanne Ting-mak Brown was thrilled to finally bring the vision to life.

“We wanted to run originally in 2020 and we all know why we couldn’t,” Ting-mak Brown laughed.

The day featured various pet-related vendors, showed off some adoptable dogs and had a chick-holding station.

Ting-mak Brown said it seemed like a no-brainer to start a local pet show.

“We saw a pet expo in another town and we were thinking, well, we have such dog lovers in the Okanagan and in Kelowna specifically, why don’t we have a pet event here? So, we brought it here.”

It was more than just dogs, however, with cats, a bird, a turtle and some frogs joining the fun.

The event ran from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with lots of fun activities including a puppy picnic and a pug dash.

The pet expo will likely become an annual event, according to Ting-mak Brown.
