Vernon lit it up blue last weekend to kick off Autism Awarness Month.

The fourth annual Autism Awareness Walk drew a crowd Sunday at Polson Park. Families enjoyed a day in the park while raising awareness about autism.

The event was co-hosted by the NONA Child Development Centre, the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs, Sky High Professional Group, North Okanagan Youth and Family Services Society and the Children and Youth with Special Needs branch of the Ministry of Children and Family Development.

April is Autism Awareness Month, drawing attention to the tens of thousands facing an autism diagnosis each year.
