Alternative Gift Fair draws near

Local not-for-profit organizations and charities may apply for inclusion in the even, hosted by JCI Vernon.

JCI Vernon is already getting ready for a season of giving with the fifth annual Alternative Gift Fair.

Local not-for-profit organizations and charities may apply for inclusion in the event hosted by JCI Vernon.

The fair will be held at the Arbour (in front of Vernon Alliance Church) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 6.

The fair offers holiday shoppers an easy way to buy gifts of charitable donations and to support their favorite causes. Each participating organization offers a variety of meaningful “gifts of help” in price ranges that start as low as $10. Shoppers receive cards and inserts that identify their donations.

“JCI Vernon is very excited to be hosting the Alternative Gift Fair again. This is a great way to give back to your community and take time to remember the true spirit of the holiday season,” said Hailey Rilkoff, JCI Vernon Alternative Gift Fair co-chairperson.

“We are so happy to have Sun FM back as a sponsor for the event again to help get the word out to holiday shoppers and community supporters.”

In 2013, the JCI Vernon Alternative Gift Fair brought in more than $5,000 for local organizations. Representatives from each not-for-profit organization must be present at the fair, and this is a great way to provide education about current projects or programs that each organization offers.

Applications are available now by contacting Sue Solymosi or Hailey Rilkoff at jcialternativegiftfair@gmail.com. For more information, visit www.jcivernon.com.

The deadline for completed applications is 5 p.m. Nov. 17.
