Annual hike helps Hospice

The North Okanagan Hospice Society holds its Hike for Hospice Sunday at Polson Park

Don’t forget to mark Sunday on your calendar.

The North Okanagan Hospice Society holds its Hike for Hospice that day and the event at Polson Park is open to the public.

“Bring your family and friends for some fun in the park,” said Ruth Edwards, executive director.

“There’s no need to walk, hike or skip. You can just sit and relax and enjoy the entertainment and other fun activities.”

If you want to participate as an individual or family or group of friends, visit www.nohs.ca and print a pledge form.

“Every dollar counts and makes a big difference,” said Edwards.

The event starts with a $5 pancake breakfast provided by the Lions Club. Registration is at 9:15 a.m. and the official walk start-time is 10 a.m. There is a picnic in the park at 11 a.m.

There will be crafts, face-painting, games, space for you to bring a picnic and entertainment.

“It’s important to know that you don’t have to be on a team or join as a participant to attend the festivities. We really encourage the community to come down and help us celebrate our 30th anniversary” said Edwards.

If your company would like to officially challenge another business in the community, contact events@nohs.ca or 250-309-7573.
