Armstrong run serves up food aid

The fourth annual Great Pumpkin Run and Walk was a success.

The Armstrong event Oct. 10 attracted 136 participants.

“More than $1,300 was raised for the Armstrong Food Bank and the Brown Bag Lunch program,” said Carol Hill-Lonergan, one of the organizers.

“Awards, snacks and drinks concluded the event. A huge thank you to all of the sponsors, volunteers and participants that made this day possible.”

Chocolate medals, donated by Chocoliro, were awarded to the first three male and female five-kilometre runners: First male, Ian McKechnie in 18:04; second male, Neil McKechnie in 19:22; third male, Michael Lapp, in 20:23; First female, Chantell Jeffrey in 20:25; second female, Iris Jeffrey in 25:14; third female Liz McCusker in 25:24.
