A Christmas tradition

A Christmas tradition is coming alive.

Bethlehem Star, which captures the nativity, runs this Friday through Sunday at Vernon’s Emmanuel Baptist Church.

“Follow the crowds to a 1st century marketplace where you can barter for goods, join the Roman army or learn how to shepherd a flock,” said Aaron Wilson, the church’s administrator.

“The marketplace is bustling with activity and has something for everyone. But wait, there’s more. Come and experience life in the town square where you can also get a glimpse of the live nativity.”

During the event, you will meet some shepherds and the wise men.

“You’ll also have a photo booth opportunity to capture your memories of Bethlehem,” said Wilson.

“There will be interactive games for all ages too. To round out your journey, there will be time to enjoy hot chocolate, cookies and a live theatrical production.”

Bethlehem Star, which is free to attend, is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, and from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Emmanuel Baptist Church is located at 3412 15th Ave.
