Bosley's supports local animals

Bosley’s Vernon will be hosting an adoption event Saturday.

This April, animal lovers and the Pet Experts at Bosley’s and the Pet Valu family of stores across North America, are teaming up to lend a helping paw to animal rescue charities and pets in need.

Bosley’s Vernon will be hosting an adoption event Saturday.

They will be joined by the Sit Pretty Pit Rescue Society with dogs between 9 a.m. and noon and the Okanagan Humane Society with kittens and cats between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

There will be children’s face painting as well as fur kids painting (washable/non toxic). Bosley’s will also have a duck pond draw and a “guess how many dog cookies in the jar” contest, whereby customers can win one of several prizes offered by cat and dog food manufacturing companies, namely Firstmate, Champion Pet (Orijen, Acana), Natural Balance, Merrick and Petcurean (Go! and Now).

All donations fundraised on the day and throughout the month of April will go directly to Sit Pretty Pit Rescue and Okanagan Humane Society Rescue. As a thank you for customer donations of $5 or more, customers will receive a $5 coupon for any purchase of more than $40 redeemable until May 4.

“Pet Appreciation Month raises much-needed money and supplies to support charities that help pets in need find forever homes,” said Rose Ferrante, director of marketing for Bosley’s and Pet Valu.

“About 75 per cent of the animals adopted each year through Bosley’s stores are cats and we hope that prospective adoptive families will visit our stores from April 15 to 17 during national adoption weekend.”

Visit your local Bosley’s throughout the month of April, purchase and sign an official PAW for $2, $5 or $10, or make a product donation to local animal rescue charities.

Throughout April, Bosley’s will be sharing #PostaPaw missions on Facebook and Twitter.

Every share or retweet will trigger a donation to rescue groups across Canada, up to 5,000 cups of pet food or kilograms of litter each week. Pet lovers can also create their own #PostaPaw posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to trigger a donation.
