Boston Pizza rallies behind Cops for Kids charity

Eating pizza or pasta for one night will help needy children in the southern Interior

Enjoying a pizza later this month will help a local charity.

Cops For Kids and Boston Pizza will again join forces to raise funds for local kids in need Oct. 27.

Tickets for the one-day fundraiser can now be purchased for $20 at participating Boston Pizza locations with $10 going directly to Cops For Kids and $10 going towards a great meal at Boston Pizza.

“We’re looking forward to our fourth year of working together with Cops for Kids to raise money for kids in our community,” said Sean Matile, franchisee at Boston Pizza in Vernon.

“This program started at our Vernon location, and we’re proud to have 12 Boston Pizza locations participating in this year’s event.”

Guests who purchase a ticket receive a starter salad and choice of an individual pizza; create your own pasta or a BP burger with fries for a main course, as well as a non-alcoholic beverage.

In addition, $4 from the purchase of each Kids Meal bought on Oct. 27 will be donated to Cops for Kids.

Besides Vernon, the event is being held at Boston Pizza restaurants in Kelowna, Kamloops, Castlegar, Westbank, Salmon Arm, Penticton, Cranbrook, Merritt and Fernie.

“We are thrilled about our partnership with Boston Pizza. It is a great way for us to raise awareness and funds for Cops for Kids and the work we do in the community.” said Gail Harrison, president of Cops for Kids.

“This year, we are hoping to raise more than $10,000 through the sale of tickets as well as through a silent auction and other onsite fundraising initiatives.”

Cops for Kids Charitable Foundation raise funds and awareness year round to help support children who reside in the southern Interior that struggle with mental, physical or emotional crisis.

During the past 10 years, Cops for Kids has raised more than $1.7 million to support these children.
