Building remains steady in Spallumcheen.

Regional District of North Okanagan building permits issued in the township in September totalled seven, worth just more than $874,000. There were seven permits issued in September 2016 worth just more than $1.1 million.

In 2017, 55 permits worth just under $11,800,000 have been issued in the township. That’s down two permits that were issued through the first nine months of 2016, but those permits totalled just over $7.5 million.

Federal funds

The township will receive a federal grant through the Municipal Asset Management Program (MAMP).

The grant is for $50,000 and will be used as part of the township’s building asset management capacity and strategy.

Federal Minister of Infrastructre and Communities Amarjeet Sohi made the announcement Thursday.

More than 100 communities across Canada received funding through one of two programs. The other is the Municipalities for Climate Innovation Program (MCIP).
