There’s a chance for local residents to get involved in a winter extravaganza.
The Vernon Winter Carnival Society will hold its annual general meeting May 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Carnival office, 3401 35th Ave.
“The purpose of the AGM is to elect new directors, consider and approve the 2016 financial statements and to consider any new business brought before the meeting,” said Deb White, chairperson.
“The AGM is an opportunity for you to learn about the financial standing of Vernon Winter Carnival meet the current and newly elected directors and have a voice in the activities of the non profit society.”

Volunteers are also being sought for Carnival Cops and jopo/jopette.
