The City of Vernon is encouraging residents to consider carpooling for their daily commute during Okanagan Carpool Week Oct. 17 to 21.

The city says that drivers that travel alone lose out on the opportunity to keep up to 25 per cent of their car costs in their savings account.

“Driving alone in the winter months can be tiring and stressful,” said Tanya Laing Gahr, with the city.

“Register at www.carpool.ca to find a carpool partner to feel safer and save money. And, this month, drivers have a chance to win free fuel cards just by registering, filling out a survey or updating their information.”
