Bourbon Street Bar and Grill at the Prestige Hotel is teaming up with Vernon Fire Rescue Services to host Savour the Okanagan Saturday

It’s a wine tour held under one roof.

This summer’s third annual Savour the Okanagan event at the Prestige Hotel’s Bourbon Street Bar and Grill will help raise funds for the North Okanagan Hospice Society and Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

“This year, we are very proud to have partnered with Vernon’s professional firefighters,” said Lisa Grant, Prestige Hotel’s convention and sales manager.

Vernon Fire Rescue Services will donate the proceeds from the silent auction that night to the North Okanagan Hospice Society and Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

“We are thrilled to be taking part in Savour the Okanagan,” said Chris Kulak, training officer with Vernon Fire Rescue Services. “We are also happy to raise funds for hospice and Muscular Dystrophy Canada has been the firefighters’ charity for 60 years.”

Savour the Okanagan will run July 23, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Prestige Hotel.

Underneath a canvas of sparkling lights, the evening of wine, beer and spirits tasting provides an opportunity to come and explore an array of Okanagan-inspired hors d’oeuvres and canapés, showcasing local ingredients.

“I create handcrafted hors d’oeuvres from local world-class smoked meat and cheeses to pair them with the best of Okanagan wines,” said Bourbon Street head chef Inna Turchin.

Added Grant: “More than 18 wineries will be represented along with Vernon’s very own Okanagan Spirits.”

Live music for the evening will be provided by Steve Todd.

Early bird tickets are now on sale at $45 which includes all appetizers and tastings.

Tickets are available at Bourbon Street Bar and Grill or at the Prestige Hotel.
