It’s time to have fun and show your support for mental health programs in the community.

The Canadian Mental Health Association will host the second annual Mixing It Up For Mental Health Saturday at Durali Villa on Old Kamloops Road.

“It will be an evening to enjoy the company of others, local entertainment, beverages and appetizers while supporting an important cause through the opportunity to bid on silent auction items,” said Sharon Durant, with CMHA.

Proceeds will support Super Saturdays.

This is an early intervention, prevention based program, provided at no cost for children ages 7 to 12, that have   a parent or caregiver living with a mental illness.

“The group meets once a month for a day of recreation and social activities with                    a healthy lunch made with the kids and nutritional snacks are provided,” said Durant.

“The nature of the community-based program promotes connection and engagement and offers the opportunity to establish lasting friendships with peers. This is a day that all family members look forward to and for many of the parents this is their only opportunity for a day of personal wellness.”

Mixing It Up for Mental Health is from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday Tickets are $35 and they can be picked up at CMHA, 3100 28th Ave.
