Efforts are building to create cohousing in Vernon.
Ponderosa Cohousing group is hosting two information sessions Tuesday, Feb. 13 and Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. at the library.
The Vernon group is looking to create a cohousing community that prioritizes social connection, sustainable lifestyles, environmental awaresss and inclusiveness.
“Our aim is to design and develop a housing complex composed of affordable, quality-built homes while creating a community that balances shared spaces and amenities with individual ownership of units and privacy,” the group states.
Cohousing communities consist of privately owned homes and common areas such as community kitchen and garden, children’s play area and common house.
The Ponderosa group is in the forming stage and looking for members.
