Coldstream is getting in the Christmas spirit Sunday.
Songs of the season will fill the air as neighbours come together for the ninth annual Coldstream Community Christmas Light Up Sunday at 6 p.m.
“It’s a fun night,” said David Hockley, church pastor. “You can see the people catching up with friends they haven’t seen in a while. It’s neat to see.”
Families and neighbours are urged to come out to the free event and donate to the Salvation Army food bank. Once there you can huddle around the bonfire, decorate cookies, take in the sounds of music from the Kidston Elementary choir and local artist Morgan Hilliss, enjoy some free hot dogs, check out a live nativity and more.
“Farmer Val’s here with all the critters,” said Hockley. “And the Coldstream Fire Department will be here with the hot chocolate and popcorn and they’ll have a fire truck here.”
You can also get in the game with the Vernon Vipers.
“We’ll all be here,” said Viper captain Brett Corkey.
There will also be some royalty on hand.
“All the Queen Silver Star candidates will be here as well,” said Queen Silver Star Christianne Edblad.
