Ladies World Health and Fitness will host a fundraiser for Transition House Jan. 16.

Local residents can cram a car and help women in need.

A Cram the Car event will be held Monday, Jan. 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Ladies World Health and Fitness.

“It’s our hope that the community will help our community of women pack the car full of much needed personal items for the women of Transition House,” said Goldy Sidhu, with Ladies World.

“Every year, some of Vernon’s most vulnerable women seek refuge at Transition House. This society cares for their every initial need. However, they are only able to do so with ongoing community support.”

During Cram the Car, residents can bring a donation to 4406 27th St., and there will be snacks and prizes.

The event is also sponsored by Shawna Sidhu, a Re/Max realtor.

“Transition House has provided us with a wish list of new personal items they are in need of,” said Shawna Sidhu.

“To view this list, visit our Cram the Car event page on Facebook and click on the link. Challenge a friend, co-worker or business to meet or beat your donation. If you cannot attend our event on this day, donations can be dropped off at Ladies World during the entire week of Jan. 16.”
