Residents are being asked for input on the long-term future of the Shuswap River.

The Regional District of North Okanagan will hold two workshops June 21 and 22 to discuss the proposed sustainability plan for the Shuswap River watershed.

“The workshops will provide a forum for people to outline their aspirations for the watershed and identify issues and areas of concern,” said Anna Page, sustainability co-ordinator.

The workshops will be held June 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Riverside Community Hall in Ashton Creek and June 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the White Valley Community Centre in Lumby.

The information gathered at the workshops will identify the areas of focus for the plan along with information that is derived from a technical assessment of the watershed and from stakeholders.

“We encourage all community members who are interested in the future management of the Shuswap River watershed to come and participate in the workshops,” said Page.
