Vernon’s Home Depot is again showing North Okanagan Youth and Family Services Society the door.
Home Depot’s Orange Door Project fundraising campaign to combat youth homelessness will benefit NOYFSS’ programs, and support local at-risk and homeless youth, as 100 per cent of the funds raised through the campaign will go to the society.
From now until Sunday, June 25, customers can donate online at OrangeDoorProject.ca or at the Anderson Way store’s checkout. All local donations will help NOYFSS to provide free educational groups and counselling services for youth in high risk situations, including those living on their own or facing homelessness.
These supports often help solidify proper and safe housing, giving youth in the community the best opportunity to succeed, despite the circumstances of their situation.
“We are so grateful for the support from The Home Depot Canada Foundation and our local Vernon Home Depot Canada store,” said NOYFSS executive director Dean Francks.
“Their support since 2014 has created a significant social impact on the community. Providing at-risk-youth in the North Okanagan with a non-threatening environment, encouraging positive engagement, and skill building tools, helps to reduce high-risk behaviours and ultimately creates opportunities for youth to be successful and build healthier communities.”
Through The Orange Door Project campaign, The Home Depot Canada Foundation supports 126 organizations that are committed to preventing and ending youth homelessness across the country.
