Kids from the Children’s Miracle Network got a special treat after Thursday’s Miracle Treat Day at Dairy Queen.
Sheldon Aldrich from the Vernon location says this is his sixth year being involved and it was by far the best he’s experienced.
A total of 1,347 Blizzards were sold in Vernon on Thursday, that’s more Blizzards than any of the previous years.
“We beat our previous high set in August ‘08, we sold over 100 more Blizzards,” said Aldrich.
In addition to the record amount of Blizzards, balloon sales were also up from previous years with a total of 270 being sold to raise a record amount
Those numbers combined with the donations collected made for a grand total of $6,360 going toward the Children’s Miracle Network, almost $1,200 more than the previous record of $5,183 that was raised in 2008.
“It was a good year and we’re really happy with how it went,” said Aldrich.
Prior to this year’s Miracle Treat Day, Dairy Queen has raised over $91 million since they first started supporting the Children’s Miracle Network in 1984.
