A summer of fun is planned for downtown Vernon.

The Downtown Vernon Association has a number of events moving ahead.

“Our Curbside Night Markets are taking place on the last Friday of every month downtown and Jammin’ in Justice is every Wednesday in Justice park from noon to 1:30 p.m.,” said Dory Geelkerken, with the DVA.

“There is also Civic Sounds every Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. in Civic Plaza.”

All information regarding the events can be found at www.downtownvernon.com

On Saturday, the DVA hosted the Sunshine Festival.

“Downtown was packed as thousands of people listened to the live music from both our Valley First Stage and our Kalavida Surf Shop Stage,” said Geelkerken.

“There was plenty of food to enjoy as people browsed and shopped from more than 150 vendors, artisan and non-profits.
