Family and friends of Vancouver resident Edith Nee are appealing for a donor as the former chair of the B.C. Press Council struggles with kidney failure.

Ms. Nee was diagnosed two years ago, the same month her father died from kidney failure. She has since submitted daily to dialysis and has been told by doctors she desperately requires a kidney transplant. She suffers from chronic fatigue, a skin condition, shortness of breath and low blood pressure.

Ms. Nee is compatible with blood types B and O and if a candidate is not compatible, he/she can enter the Paired Exchange Program. More information is available at www.transplant.bc.ca or call the donor nurse Sharon Duncan at 604-875-4111 (extension 20519).

Ms. Nee is a UBC graduate and most of her career was in government. She was active in civic affairs and national social programs involving visible minorities.
