A number of individuals and groups have been recognized for their dedication to the community and the environment.
The Regional District of North Okanagan has named its 2016 Environmental Leadership Award winners.
“Every year, RDNO acknowledges youth, individuals, businesses and groups who are working hard to enhance the natural environment,” said Jennifer Miles, water sustainability co-ordinator.
In the category of youth environmental leadership, the winners are the Kala Star Academics and Outdoor School and Okanagan Landing Elementary School.
In the category of individual environmental leadership, Ed Columbus and Harold Sellars were recognized while walking away with the business/group environmental leadership award is Back to Earth Enviro Products and the Cherryville Artisans Association.
“RDNO would like to congratulate all of the nominees and thank them for their hard work and dedication on their specific projects and programs,” said Miles.
