Shades of purple will fill the BX Creek Bar and Grill this evening in support of epilepsy awareness.
In celebration of Purple Day, today, a Vernon woman is hosting this evening’s Purple Pearl Jammer, starting at 5 p.m.
It’s a cause close to Marnie Taylor’s heart, as she has struggled with the disease most of her life.
“There will be purple cocktails and mocktails, a small silent auction, admission is by donation and I’ve got live acoustic entertainment lined up,” said Taylor, who urges everyone to wear purple today to show support.
During the fundraising event, there will also be Purple Day bands and ribbons available by donation.
“We’re trying to get as many people as possible to come down, and bring the kids.”
